Q&A: Get to Know Christina
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: In California. I descend from a line of Californios who lived here before it California became a US state and was divided between Alta and Baja California. Some of our history was documented in this book: Last of the Californios by Pourade.
Q: What do you do outside of work?
A: I like to keep busy. I enjoy fitness classes, dancing and learning new things. My grandmother taught me about plants and their uses and I developed a passion for California Native Plants. Also, because the law is always developing, I attend a number of continuing education conferences and seminars throughout the year.
Q: Favorite TV Show?
A: What is Jeopardy? Never a contestant though.
Q: Favorite food?
A: Pozole in the winter / Fish Tacos in the summer. Pozole is a broth-based traditional Mexican soup made with hominy and chile peppers. Fish tacos are a southern California staple.
Q: Favorite part of your work?
A: My clients. I feel so honored to help families, especially widows navigate the death of a loved one. Death is an unavoidable and challenging time of life. Even though it feels like drowning, I can navigate and together we reach the other shore. It is very fulfilling to see clients start a new chapter and feel empowered after going through something so difficult.
